That’s a great question! At Peak Health Institute we are passionate about education and giving you the tools needed to make informed decisions about your health.
Ideally, we would get all necessary nutrients through the food consumed daily. Unfortunately, due to poor soil, toxins, and other factors, receiving essential nutrients from diet alone is no longer a reality.
Even organic food these days is found to have significant amounts of glyphosate, a chemical sprayed on crops to decrease pests and increase yield. This chemical is highly toxic and has been shown to cause break-down in the gut lining. This, among other toxins, creates problems with the gut’s ability to properly absorb and utilize nutrients in our food.
In addition to our food being riddled with toxic chemicals, our soil is depleted of many of the vitamins and minerals it used to provide. For this reason, we are taking in less of the good stuff and able to utilize far less of what we do take in.
Throw in the fact that we live in a stressful society with fast paced lives. We don’t stop to properly chew our food or to let our bodies maintain proper “rest and digest” state for very long to breakdown and utilize the nutrients that we are eating.
For all these reasons, and sometimes more complex reasons like chronic infection, environmental illness, or systemic inflammation, the absorption and utilization process are less than optimal. This is why at Peak Health Institute; we believe that micronutrients and minerals in IV infusions can hold tremendous benefit for the optimization of our patients’ health.
